MOVING TO IRELAND Many thanks for your inquiry into our moving services to Ireland. When the time comes, we would certainly look forward to serving you. This is a general breakdown of our services and charges to Ireland.
Depending on what you have to move, we can give you either a 20 foot or 40 foot long container. These containers are 8 feet high and 8 feet wide. A 20-foot ocean container will hold the average contents of a typical two bedroom apartment or house. A 40 foot ocean container will hold a 3 to 4 bedroom apartment or house. You may not need a full container. We utilize 'consolidation' containers for smaller shipments. We pack/pick up goods with a local truck. We then bring your household goods back to our warehouse where they are consolidated into a large container with other shipments. (New York Metropolitan Area Only) Alternatively, you can bring your household goods to our New York City warehouse. When the shipment arrives in Ireland, you can pick them up from our warehouse in Dublin. The cost for this service is lower. However, these household goods must be packed and ready to ship. Liffey Van Lines can package the items for you at an additional charge. Please note that you can fax us a list of the items you are moving. We will, by return fax, price the move for you. Or, we can do an on-site survey and give you a guaranteed price (forfull service moves from the New York Metropolitan area only).
If you would like to ship your auto to Ireland, we can transport it in your own container if you are also shipping household goods. The auto would be loaded onto the back end of the container. If you would like to ship the auto alone, you can bring it to our New York City warehouse. We will ship to Ireland, clear through customs, and you can pick up the auto from our warehouse in Dublin. Please not that you need clear Title to ship the auto. If there are any liens on the Title, we need the lien release paperwork to accompany the Title.
1. Prove that you have resided in the United States for at least the past 12 months. Proof can be in the form of utility bills, bank statements, mortgage statements, lease agreements, etc. One document has to be at least one year old and the other must be current. 2. Complete a "Transfer of Residence" 1076 Custom Form. 3. Copy of your passport. 4. Prove you are taking up residence in Ireland. A mortgage statement, new utility bill, a letter for your solicitor stating that he knows who you are and that you are taking up residence at (address) will be examples of this proof. 5. For your auto, show you have had the auto titled in your own name for at least six months. 6. Registration for the auto in your own name. 7. Bill of sale from when you purchased the auto.
International Move Insurance is available for your move at an additional charge. The price is based on three percent (3%) of the value you place on your shipment, i.e. $5,000.00 worth of coverage will have a premium of $150.00. There is no deductible on this insurance. A Valued Inventory Form must be completed, which lists your goods and their value.
Full payment for the move and insurance (if applicable) is due prior to your shipment being exported to Ireland. Please give us a call if you have any questions. We will be happy to serve you. Return to our Home Page. | ||
